WELCOME TO main street books!

FRIENDLY, SMALL-TOWN ATMOSPHERE, wide-ranging selection & impressively low prices

Located on Monroe's historic Main Street, we're more than a store - we're a vital gathering place for the community. We offer author events, writing workshops, and a monthly storytime. Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know.

Thousands of our titles are available for online orders, which we ship out daily. Much more, however, can be found inside our store. Primarily used books, we also have a small selection of new and popular titles. If you're looking for something in particular, we can find it for you.

We specialize in local history and interest, all of Pacific Northwest with an emphasis, naturally, on Monroe and Snohomish County. We have a great array of fantasy and science fiction, mysteries, and audiobooks. Bring in your books to trade for store credit, and get half off your purchase!

A local author who works at Monroe Post office, Julie Loan Ky Alexander will be sharing and signing her memoir, "A Rose on the Steel Ground" on December 19th, 6pm.

Storytime with Miss Kathy is the first Saturday of every month at 11am. All ages are welcome!

Enjoy stories, songs, and crafts.

Pick out a free book to bring home!

Upcoming: January 3rd

Join our Wednesday Writers every week from 7pm to 9pm. A novel, a memoir, a blog - bring anything you're working on and receive supportive peer advice!

No group 12/24 and 12/31. 1/7/2015 meet at library.

To show our customer appreciation, our next Full Trade Credit Day will be December 26th!

If you've traded books with us before, 100% of that credit can be spent on purchases of used books! The rest of the month we ask that half of your purchase be paid in cash. Trade credit does not qualify for new books or special orders.
